Our ROLE: First,
remember that Boosters support both the middle school programs and the
high school programs. The Farmville Band Boosters is a service
organization. As individuals, and as a whole, our role is to provide
support, assistance and resources for the Farmville Middle School and
Farmville Central High School Band Programs. Accountability and
responsibility for the music programs rest solely on the band
directors. They are responsible for all students and activities while
under school jurisdiction, and thus, they are the decision makers and
disciplinarians. As members of our Band Booster Org., designed to
support these music programs, our role is to act on the
director’s decisions and uphold the standard they set as well
as those of our school system. The band program relies on the boosters
tremendously. Virtually all of the funds needed are raised by the
boosters. You’ve heard the phrase,
“NO SHIRT, NO SHOES, NO ENTRY”
well...
“NO BOOSTERS, NO FUNDRAISERS, NO BAND PROGRAMS”.
Through our willingness to do what it takes to provide all the
necessary resources, these programs have the opportunity to put on the
best show and give the best performance they can. However, our
activities and diligence provide much more than just financial and
physical support for a band program. We have the opportunity to help
develop and influence many young adults. We can be mentors and role
models for the next generation. Our cheering section isn’t
bound to the grand stand! As a booster, you can make a difference!
Our GOAL: Since we do have the Best Marching Band around (!!!!!!!) we
must have the Best Booster Program around!!!!!!! With the help and
support of all of the parents, we can pull off any need that arises and
be the most awesome cheering section ever seen!!!!!!!
