Farmville Middle School Band Members, Family, and Friends,

Welcome to the Farmville Band Program! Our names are Donna and Jerry Buttrum, and we are the directors of the Farmville Bands Program. While Mrs. Buttrum will be primarily at Farmville Central, and Mr. Buttrum at Farmville Middle, we work as a team and equally are responsible for your musical education at FCHS and FMS.

The expectations for the FMS Band program are large. If you are a past member of this organization then you know its past successes., and that we exceed them with even more achievement in the coming years. While musical activities are the core of our program, the total band experience will provide opportunities for every band member to grow as an individual. This will include learning planning skills, the ability to function as a team, and other skills that will help each member become a “R.A.R.E” productive member of society.

As you can see, our band program will be extremely active this year, and we hope that you are ready to get busy! There is no reason for us not to have a wonderful year together. It should be our utmost goal to educate ourselves, display good character, develop personal responsibility, and to learn to love music. The pursuit of these goals will ensure your success in this program.
